Meet Emily

Welcome! I’m Emily Shreves, the curator behind The Velvet Ledger. I spent the last six years working as an event planner in Indianapolis, Indiana. I worked alongside a close friend planning weddings of every size and budget, from intimate backyard ceremonies to full scale celebrations. We also planned quinceañeras and large scale cultural events. Day to day, I was managing details, keeping timelines on track, solving problems on site, and learning exactly what it takes to make an event run smoothly from the inside out. Alongside that, I spent years in banking, which is where I sharpened the organization, budgeting, and attention to detail that a well run event depends on. During this time I also planned and orchestrated many different corporate events. Now based in Florida, I’m putting that experience to work for myself. The Velvet Ledger is built on everything I learned along the way. I provide an eye for detail, a calm head under pressure, and a genuine love for helping people celebrate the moments that matter to them.
